Micro-needling also know as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a treatment proven to stimulate collagen production, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, tighten sagging skin, reduce acne scarring, and the appearance of stretch marks and surface pigmentation.

Micro Needling:

  • No excessive sun exposure 24 hours prior to treatment
  • Arrive make-up free for your appointment
  • Avoid use of Retinol, and AHA’s for 48 hours pre and post treatment
  • No alcohol consumption 24 hours pre and post treatment
  • You may take a mild pain reliever such as Tylenol prior to treatment (NO ADVIL OR ASPIRIN)
  • Your skin care professional will apply numbing crème before your treatment for your comfort
  • After Treatment, refrain from washing your face, exercise, saunas, hot tubs, sunbeds, and strong sunlight for 24 hours
  • Do not use SPF for 48 hours post treatment, then it is imperative that you use SPF 30 or more
  • Avoid touching your skin unnecessarily. Always wash your hands or use gloves before touching treated skin
  • Use only the Hyaluronic Serum and mask provided to you for 24 hours post treatment
  • After 24 hours You may splash your face with tepid water and if you still have some Hyaluronic Serum and mask, continue using that and once it is gone, use the collagen Gel Sample provided for you for the next 24 hours
  • Avoid makeup for 24 hours post treatment
  • After 24 hours you may use Jane Iredale Mineral make-up if necessary, and may begin with regular cleanser
  • After 48 hours you may return to normal skin care regime recommended by your skin care professional

For the best outcome:

Typical treatment protocol is 3 treatments 6 weeks apart. The total number of required treatment sessions depends on the skin condition of the client.

When can I expect to see results?

Post treatment, clients may notice tone and texture improvements as a result of increased levels of beneficial collagen. Most results are most noticeable 1-3 months after the last session.

Is Micro-Needling right for me?

Treatment is a safe and effective solution for most skin types.

Does it hurt?

During the treatment, clients may feel a prickly sensation but is tolerable because of the topical anaesthetic cream used to reduce unpleasant sensations. Clients may feel a little discomfort when treating delicate areas. After treatment a pink or red “sunburn” appearance is also common. An intensive moisture mask is applied right after to remove 80% of the redness and to give the skin an immediate boost of hydration.

Downtime:

For the first 24 hours, your skin may feel sun burnt and appear a bit red. No makeup or creams can be used on the skin, with the exception of specific post procedure products.
